Mystery Books

In my opinion, there is nothing better than curling up on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate and one of my many mystery books. I could spend hours trying to solve the crimes and mysteries before I reach the end of the book. I am the first to admit it – mystery books are one of my weaknesses. Well, most of them are my weakness. There are some mystery books that just don’t suit my fancy too much. But, I have my favorite authors and choose any new books cautiously. There has to be a storyline that captivates me within the first few chapters or I’m putting the book down and never picking it up again. There are too many mystery books in print that seem to take forever to announce the plot and the audience doesn’t care to continue reading.

I belong to a book club, mysteryguild.com. I get monthly newsletters begging me to order new books and at first, responding to them became a nuisance. I hated mailing back to order form to decline my selections each month. Now that the internet has become so popular, I can respond to them online and save myself some stamps. Sure, I had to sign an agreement in the beginning to buy a few books within a certain time frame. I read so often, that it isn’t a problem for me to keep that agreement. Plus, you get quite a few free books when you first sign up, so it is worth the agreement. The club that I belong to mainly only has mystery books but when signing up online and activating your account, you suddenly are able to purchase other genres of books through their affiliates. At that point, you’re not just limited to mystery books.

Mystery books are one of the most in demand genres that exists. People love it when authors keep them guessing. There’s something amazing about just getting lost in a good mystery book and forgetting about the daily pains of your regular life. Though the stories may be gruesome or thrilling, it is fun to lose yourself in something other than your own life’s dramas. Once people start to read mystery books, they tend to support and stick to the same authors. I used to do that. However, my favorite authors couldn’t keep up with how quickly I can go through a book or two. I started branching out to explore some new authors and quickly found some other favorites. Luckily, on my book club website, any mystery books written by authors may have recommendations from other readers. You can read a review of the book and see what others are saying in regards to how great or poorly it was written. More times than not, I’ve based my purchasing decisions on those opinions. But, when it comes to mystery books, all I want to be is entertained.

Summary

Mystery books capture the minds of readers like no other type of read. There are many book clubs to help you save money on new releases as well as old favorites. People tend to stick with certain authors, but avid readers enjoy reading every mystery book tehy can find.
